Love is not love which alters when it alteration finds,
or bends with the remover to remove.
O no! It is an ever-fixed mark
Which looks on tempests
And is not shaken.
night driving

Oh, Lord. Trust me to do something dumb with my license.
So I have this friend. She lives about half an hour away, in a town I used to live in. So I should know how to get there, right? Long story short, it's winter in Ohio. It's 5:30pm, it's dark. So instead of going OVER the freeway, like my Mom told me, I get confused by a sign saying "TOWN this way", so I get on the freeway. I freak out and just keep following the signs to the town. I come into the town from THE OTHER DIRECTION. I head in the direction I know I'm supposed to, knowing where I am now. Then, stupid me, I - of course - miss the turn and end up heading back towards my house. So I pull into someone's driveway, which, just my luck, is in the middle of two blind hills. I pull out way too fast, and - Thank you GOD - get to my friend's house. Now, my mom is enormously paranoid. She wanted me to come home before me and my friend head to the movies. I get to a point where I know where I am, and I could just go to the movies and call my mom. But, stupid me, I try to go back the way I came. I get lost AGAIN. So I pull into a random driveway, to call my mom. Halfway through her instructions on how to get home down I-71, I realize I'm in my sister's friend's driveway. And I know exactly where I am and get home. My point: Out of every driveway on I-71, I pull into the one where my sister's friend lives. That is a belated Christmas miracle if you ask me. But, boy, I won't be driving in the dark for a while. >.< I didn't even get coffee. Oh, movie. Bedtime Stories: Adorable, but Adam Sandler does romance the way Santa Claus does Satanic rituals. Russell Brand, however, is my favorite person in the world. |
